Casino General Manager needed for large casino in India

    One of the largest casino's in India requires a General Manager to drive the business forward.

     

    Under the general direction of the MD, the General Manager handles all operations of the casino and the management of the staff. The GM provides leadership to the casino staff to ensure profitability and expansion of the venture and is responsible for the development of new revenue sources for the Casino. 

     

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leads overall status of the casino.
    • Checks daily result and instruct shift managers for appropriate actions.
    • Entertain guests, visitors, and clients of the casino.
    • Approve or reject purchase requisitions of Operations Department.
    • Lead with the Surveillance Dept. regarding suspicious movements of players.
    • Checks table status and results regularly.
    • Formulate rules and regulations for the smooth flow of Operations.
    • Formulate activities that would raise employee morale and enthusiasm.
    • Train or brief shift managers regarding new issues and changes in the Operations.
    • Communicate with the staff regarding issues, grievances and problems encountered and come up with a win-win solution for both the staff and management.
    • Add, amend or change rule depending on its effect on the company or staff.
    • Submit Daily Report to Head Office
    • Lead with Department Heads of key departments.
    • Amend or revise gaming procedures for optimisation and customer service.
    • Coordinate with HR Dept. regarding staff movement and requirement.
    • Aid in recruitment, training, and appraisal of staff.
    • Organise monthly meetings with shift managers
    • Perform the company appraisal and assessment program.
    • Recommend action to HR Dept. regarding Operations staff.
    • Coordinate with the Surveillance Dept. about issues and problems that can affect overall casino operations.

     

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES

    • Implement to casino standards of excellence in guest service and confidentiality.
    • Handle and resolve guest problems or complaints directly and with referrals to appropriate supervisors.
    • Report and document any observed or known safety hazard, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures.
    • Perform other job-related duties as directed.

  • Experience:

     

    • 5-10 years General Manager position in a large casino.
    • Professional knowledge of management concepts, principles and practices, and practices applicable to the full range of duties and administrative activities concerned with the management of a Casino. This includes, but is not limited to compliance with all laws, enforcement of safety and security requirements and personnel, finance, property, and records management systems.
    • Ability to make management decisions requiring independent judgment and to identify and refer other issues to the proper authorities.
    • Ability to harmonize with staff, local government officials and the general public, both orally and in writing.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Knowledge of formulating policy, program development, staff direction, supervision training, and development of social plans, and the effective accomplishment of set goals.
    • Ability to communicate effectively to establish reciprocal linkages among staff; to help resolve social and interdepartmental misunderstandings.
    • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of records and information pertinent to the nature of the work.
    • Strong written and oral interpersonal skills.

     

  • Essential Experience:

     

    • Fluency in the English language to a corporate business level
    • Minimum of 5 years of confirmed Casino Gaming Management and Hands-On Casino Gaming experience, with a well-rounded knowledge of all aspects of Casino operations, including non-gaming components (such as Bar & Restaurant).
    • Computer and software literate, especially MS Office Software.
    • A clean criminal record.
    • Strong written and oral communications skills.

     

  • Desirable Qualities:

     

    • Gaming experience in either Macao, India, Nepal or Sri Lanka.
    • Knowledge of Indian casino market
    • Hindi language speaker
