October 20, 2026
Overview
Jamaica is preparing to enter a new chapter in regulated casino gaming, with the country’s first-ever table games casino scheduled to open in February 2027 at Princess Grand Jamaica, Green Island, Hanover.
After more than a decade of legislative groundwork, regulatory development and industry anticipation, the launch of Adamas Grand Casino Jamaica marks a historic milestone for the island’s tourism and entertainment sector.
Princess Hotels and Resorts Jamaica confirmed the opening timeline on October 14, during World Travel Week 2026, where the group collected 11 international awards across luxury hospitality, weddings, conferences and culinary excellence.
A Landmark Achievement for Jamaica’s Gaming Industry
Adamas Grand Casino Limited became the first operator to receive a casino gaming licence from the Casino Gaming Commission (CGC) earlier this year, positioning Jamaica to finally activate its long‑planned integrated resort casino model.
Unlike several international jurisdictions where casino gambling is restricted to tourists, Jamaica’s regulatory framework allows both locals and visitors to enter and play — a significant step toward inclusive, regulated entertainment.
The casino will operate under a management agreement with Grupo Orenes, a Spanish gaming and hospitality group with established operations in Spain, Mexico and Andorra.

Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Manuel Clavel, Adamas Grand Casino Jamaica will feature:
- Slot machines
- Live table games: blackjack, craps, roulette, poker

- An exclusive nightclub
The casino forms part of Princess Hotels and Resorts’ US$400-million investment in Hanover, which includes Princess Grand Jamaica and the adults-only Princess Senses The Mangrove.
