Princess Grand Jamaica to Host the Island’s First Vegas-Style Casino
December 26, 2025
Jamaica is entering a transformative phase in its tourism and gaming landscape with the development of Princess Grand Jamaica, the country's first Vegas-style integrated casino resort. Located in Green Island, Hanover, near Negril, the resort is currently under construction and is expected to open in late 2025 or 2026.
Developed by Princess Hotels & Resorts, this landmark project represents the first full implementation of Jamaica's Casino Gaming Act, formally introducing casino gaming as part of large, internationally branded resort developments.
A New Chapter for Jamaican Tourism
Princess Grand Jamaica is designed as a large-scale, all-inclusive luxury integrated resort, combining hospitality, entertainment, and regulated casino gaming. The development will feature:
- Multiple hotels and premium suites
- Extensive pools and leisure facilities
- A wide range of international dining options
- Entertainment venues and family-friendly amenities
- A modern, purpose-built casino integrated into the resort complex
This project is expected to significantly enhance Jamaica's tourism offering, attracting new international visitor segments, increasing average spend per guest, and positioning the island alongside other Caribbean gaming destinations.
Strategic Location: Green Island, Hanover
Situated close to Negril, one of Jamaica's most visited tourism hubs, Princess Grand Jamaica benefits from strong existing infrastructure, international air access, and high tourist traffic. The addition of a casino is widely viewed as a game-changer, offering visitors a more diversified resort experience beyond beaches and nightlife.
Casino Acquisition Opportunities in Jamaica
As Jamaica prepares for the opening of its first integrated casino resort, existing casino assets in the country are becoming increasingly strategic. Early acquisition allows operators and investors to establish a footprint in the market ahead of the surge in demand expected once Princess Grand Jamaica becomes operational.
