  • Job Description:

    This is a key appointment and beside technology expertise, the role requires a track record of leadership and management. This means that you know how to build a strong management team as well as collaborate and manage relations to meet the needs of all stakeholders, internally as well as externally.  To be successful you need to be a good communicator with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.

     

    You need to have the ability to see problems, challenges, and complexities as opportunities for improvement and growth and together with the organization implement and execute on new strategies.

     

    You will be responsible for leading the development teams, defining the strategic road map and playing a key role as part of the senior management team reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer and on occasion the board. 

    You will be entirely responsible for establishing the company’s technical vision, the maintenance of all server, website and third-party supplier uptime as well as ensuring the ability to rapidly develop and deliver products and services for the business.

     

    As the company’s top technology executive, you will be playing an important role in the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth.

  • Salary/Package:

    Hours – 9-6 Monday – Friday

    Salary – Dependant on Experience.

  • Experience:
    • Responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan, technical roadmap, and vision for the business.
    • Achieve technical business plans and associated targets in line with organisational business goals.
    • Oversees IT budgets to make sure there is no unnecessary expenditures.
    • Develops and directs all networking safeguards to reduce risk of outside breaches and protect sensitive internal and external client information.
    • Evaluates new technology and makes recommendations on technological advancement.
    • Advise the Leadership Team on key planning issues and make recommendations on important business decisions.
    • Evaluate and implement common value-add systems/solutions to align processes and controls to reduce business risk; and to improve reporting and analysis across the business.
    • Accountable for leadership and day-to-day management of direct reports, including performance reviews.
    • Facilitate resolution of issues between departments.
    • Take charge in high-priority crises.
    • Manage and oversee all business integrations to ensure these are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Ensure management of all workflow through business project management tools such as JIRA/Atlassian.
    • Ensure that both front end and back end systems are maintained and enhanced on a continuous basis.
    • Fully responsibility for ensuring that all technical development needs of the business are met and adhered to in a timely fashion.
    • To build high performing teams, setting clear expectations, coach, feedback, inspire and engage.
    • Translating business needs to technology strategy.
    • Ensuring correct technology selection, software and infrastructure architecture, development processes supervision/validation.
    • Follow up on key technical projects of the company.
    • Driving change within the organization.
    • Technical auditing, reviewing and follow-up of the projects developed in the company.
    • Collaborate with the various managers, architects, engineers and business analysts from all departments involved in the different development projects of the company.
    • Collaborate with all development teams to improve communication and knowledge sharing.
    • Define and maintain the technology roadmaps.
    • Make sure technologies used in these domains are consistent with the company’s standards.
    • Ensure proper quality assurance of staging development technologies prior to their use in the production environment to ensure mitigation of errors on deliverables.
    • Ensure that the company stays ahead of the curve in terms of technologies and practice, and that teams are trained properly to operate with these technologies.
    • Ensure that teams are following best practices within the company.
    • You will ensure that the company’s products are throughout optimised for all device’s usage from desktop to tablet, to mobile by ensuring optimisation of UX/UI across the business.
  • Essential Experience:
    • Previously held a CTO role 
    • English speaking
    • Experienced in online gaming
  • Desirable Qualities:
    • Resident in Malta
    • Experience in sportsbook/casino/lottery/livedealer
