Overview:
Introduction
This 408-foot (125m) permanent riverboat is now out of action and her hull is available for repurpose. Originally costing $36 million, this vessel presents a unique opportunity for transformation. The vessel is SOLD and will be sunk off the coast to become an artificial reef in the Gulf of Mexico. The process involves cleaning and preparing the ship to remove toxins and asbestos before its scuttling. The goal is to create a new habitat for marine life, attract divers and anglers, and boost ecotourism.
